Go Time!

After a few dinkfests on the big river, the better fish are finally chewing.
No magnums yet, but a dozen fun sizers eating on top made for a very enjoyable few hours of wading.

One bass had some sort of parasite or lice on it. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Also got checked by a very nice CO. We had a good chat about the ridiculous turkey and deer limits and the dramatic population declines. It was a very nice encounter and I wish the state would invest in more officers to better protect our outdoor resources.

I've never seen any form of parasite that looks like that. Green and White? It looks like powerbait... trying to look it up.

Fish leech. I've seen them mostly on pickerel in the past. Often on or around the gills.

Jon,

Nice catch. I never saw anything like that on a fish. In Mansfield Hollow, Yellow perch and Sunnies on rare occasions had black pin-head sized dots. If you filleted and skinned one; there were little, 1/4 " or so dark brown worm like things in the flesh. Very gross. Still fun to catch and apparently not contagious as I am still here.
