Still After Them 9/17

Still After Them 9/17 - 09/17/22 03:21 PM

It’s been tough… like really tough lately.
Rain run off, floating grass and no bass.
I’ve made two disappointing trips to the river over the past few weeks. One trip I caught a 6” dink smallie, and the last trip I never had a bite.

I went for an hour or so this morning and thankfully I found 6 smallies willing to play.
Not the biggest, but so much fun. They always use the current to their advantage, jump, bury up in the grass and fight like river thugs.
Love catching em.

Nice Jon. I do miss fishing the CT river. A little story. We used to take our kids to Riverside Park every year. On the way up I always stopped at the river in Windsor Locks. Didn't matter what kind of plug or lure you threw you caught big smallies. This was in 70's. when no one fished the river except during shad season.

Glad you found some, if you smacked them every time out it wouldn't be fun. (NOT)

Cool story Don
That area from The Farmington River up to Enfield holds nice fish.

Nice trip. Glad to see you getting a bunch. As productive as that area is, I find it very tough to fish. I am always picking up crap on the trebels which spoils the cast. I have to give that area a shoot soon.
