Barbie and Ken split after 43 years

"After 43 years of dating, Barbie and Ken have drifted apart," said Russell Arons, vice-president of marketing at Barbie's parent company, Mattel. Ken will remain on shelves. And hopefully he won't take it too personally when Barbie starts dating again.

Mr Arons hinted that by September, Barbie would have her eye on a new Mattel character, an Australian beach boy named ...............Blaine!

However, after intensive market study, the doll’s look was altered to comply better with market demand...................

Mattel has also been working on a yet-to-be produced doll that will be Ken’s brother. The original prototype of the “Totally Yo-Yo Zach doll” is shown below.




Again, market research has shown that buyers preferred the doll much more after a few adjustments were made..................

The popular "Hunter Dan" line of outdoors-themed action figures has added a new figure to its collection of hunters and fishermen.

It is called "Hunter Dickson". Preliminary market studies have shown this figure to be very popular with members of PETA and other animal rights groups.
