In The Quiet Corner 6/16 - 06/17/23 06:23 AM

I hit a small lake out East for the afternoon. Peace and quiet without any jet skis or water skiers made it very easy to just focus on the fishing.
I caught a small keeper on my 2nd cast so that set the stage for what hopefully would be a fun afternoon.
Managed to catch 8 fish total, with a few decent ones, on a variety of soft plastics in anywhere from 5-20 feet around submerged grass, most coming deeper than 10 feet. I also threw a big swim bait for a while hoping for a jumbo trout eater, but no takers this trip.
My new electronics are amazing and I’m learning to interpret the forward facing sonar more each time I go.
Almost beat the rain driving home but it let up while I unloaded the boat and got her covered up.
It was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Yes, peace, quiet and biting fish, doesn't get much better. Way to go.

Small ponds can be a lot of fun and very peaceful which is necessary for an enjoyable day.
