Incredible trip. Thanks for sharing. My GF was in Alaska on a cruise in August. Neighbor planned a trip with her husband. Of all the places I have fished. Florida - live bait is crucial at many times. I have had days throwing lures with action all around me, but no hook ups. Switch to live bait, live shrimp or mullet and plenty of action. That is a beauty, fishing the mangroves at high tide is lots of fun.
They are great eating but you have to skin them. I have been told that cooking with the skin on creates an off taste but I do not know from personal experience since I have never caught a legal snook within the tight possession size. I have caught some real over-sized monsters at the end of the north jetty at Sebastian Inlet and some under-sized snook up in NSB but never a keeper. While fishing/camping at Barton's Cove in MA, I ran into a little weather on the water. Unfortunately, I didn't run into many fish. Only a 6" smallie over 2+ days.

We will be back to Long Pond mid-September for a few days again. The smallies will be suspended over deep water feeding on alewife herring. We troll for them and do well so I am looking forward to going.
Jester, I have been trying to talk him into trailering his boat over to Great Pond. He has a boat launch on his property so it is easy to load it up and Great Pond has a launch close to his house. The lake gets stocked with brown trout and it has alewife herring in it for food. Greetings Mates. I am looking for any recommendations for charters or info out of Scituate MA during the week of August 10-15. Offshore Sharks or Tuna or Combo and/or Inshore Bass or mixed bag. I will be there on a family vacation staying north of the Lighthouse, so I will be surf fishing at night on the beach and around the docks and with my Coast Guard pals if I can find them. I’m looking at booking a 6-man charter and would love to see the young men cranking sharks all day however, there are only three strong young men and the older me and I am good with watching the show/helping mate. I am up for anything, especially a fluke run out to The Banks if anyone knows anything about that. Either way, let me know what you know or advise.
