I used to hunt wild quail in western tn when I was in the navy going to school in millington 1987 on the naval base which had 1100 acres of brushland also sw missouri near diggins I would see them when fall turkey hunting, but never taken a shot. didn't see any quail when I lived in nc but saw a wild pheasant on the outerbanks a few years ago near oregon inlet. Here in northern MI I saw a huge flock of young partridge 12 or 15 of them on the dirt road near the boat launch one mile away from my place in the wma, plus I have them in the woods behind me. We also have some wild pheasants in alpena county near the airport and surrounding deserted farm land. no one grew soybeans here this year the fields are either corn, hay or wheat or not planted at all due to china and wet spring.
