Why not? The Mass state record is 15 lbs 8 oz. If it possible in Ma it is possible in Ct I would think.

Slam it home and cross their eyes

BigBill, When you catch a 15lb'er in CT, go check it on a set of tested scales, then release that 7lb'er so it has a chance of growing to a genuine 15lbs. :p

BigBill - Are you seriously going to make that claim and not tell us where it was? Come on, I really doubt everyone will flood the shorelines or take their boats/canoes to that body of water.

Greg, In all seriousness, people will. When I started posting about Mudge a few years ago it didn't have much of an impact. My reasoning was that the site was young and not to many anglers new about us.

In the past year with RichZ showing some spectacular catches and with the site growing in leaps and bounds, the number of boats on the lake has easily doubled, even during the week.

The good thing is that alot of folks don't know how to approach that lake and there for catch the usual suspects in the usual places.

If you are a man of your word and can keep a secret I'm sure Mr. Bill, OOOHHH NNNOOOOO, will be willing to take you to a few spots. We just can't be shouting from the highest mountain where the catch came from. And if his techniques, times and places pan out like I believe they will then we could not only become better anglers but might in all reality catch a new state record or come close. Wouldn't that suck, ha ha ha.

MarkO

Don't doubt in the dark what you learned in the light.

Caught threw the ICE in 1975. Yes it was almost 30 yrs. ago but it at least shows it's posible

Boy guys I think by listoning to you chat that some of my smallmouth out of the river in enfield are alot smaller weight wise than I thought. Biggest I have caught is 21inches...the thing looked ancient! I thought it might be 6 plus #s...guess I may have been off alittle...oh well I still love to catch um even if they are only 1#ers don't here much chatter on here about northern Ct river ( Enfield area) . Its a very nice part of the river...red ledge/rock bottom and very fishable with or without boat. Kings Island on the west side you can wade across from one side to the other and if the fish are not biting you can explore the island and carve your initials in a tree God I love that river!!
