Montauk Mega BLITZES

It's that time of year again... I've pretty much had my fill of albies but the annual blitzes at Montauk keep me coming back. I took Mark yesterday to get him his first albie and I pretty much sat back and took pictures and video. The sights and the sounds of the acres of blitzing fish is just mind blowing. Here is a quick video and some pics of the morning:

UMM Ok I saw you fishing quite a bit
It was sweet.
Did you get a chance to use those J minnows?
They were on them yesterday.
Take off the front hook put a 4x owner on the back and burn them in straight dont add any action.
We also load them so they cast better.
The hits are spectacular especially when you have 5-6 of them chasing it in.

I just about want to cry. I actually envisioned myself being there and sitting down and crying due to how lucky you have to be to be in the middle of that. Amazing!!!

I just watched it in 720p HD on my 46" Samsung LED, with the Surrond Sound Turned up...All I can say is,,,WOW!!!

Great stuff... I was out there again today... and while it was rough as hell.. there was plenty of action just like that!

Awesome photography Blaine! Those that said they wanted to cry should try being up on the roof for the last 4 days straight trying to get a new roof on the house before the rain comes tomorrow. Been trying like hell to finish it with just myself and the wife doing all the work. I highly discourage anyone from doing this especially when you are almost 50 years old. I can only say that after working like a dog everyday and then reading these reports is almost like waterboarding.

I was out there yesterday with sdbass50 and puddle jumper and it really is amazing. The fish blitzing sounded just like it was pouring out!!!

Freaking amazing, fantastic video.
I witnessed a day like that at Montauk two years ago.
It was crazy to see the water full of fish scales from the shredded bait, it looked like somebody had dumped tons of glitter into the water. Thanks for sharing.

The videos and the pictures have me all pumped up, but the weather forecast has me totally bummed out. I was hoping for a break next Tuesday from the 5 footers, but now it does not look like the opening will be till next Friday. I hope the pods stay in tact, but those fish are on the move and timing is everything.

For those who have not been to Montauk, the water is much differeent from the Connecticut side and when the wind blows the ride home can be a white knuckle experience - be careful!
