Spring is hardly here and already we've had a boating fatality (yesterday on Woodridge Lake) and a boat sinking where the operator needed to be rescued (today on Twin Lake).

I know everyone is chomping at the bit to get out there on your boat. I would just like to remind everyone that the water is still very cold and if you go in, particularly without a life jacket it can ruin your weekend....perhaps permanently.

Please be careful out there, wear your PFDs, make sure you've got your safety gear on the boat with you, that your bilge pump works (or you have a bailer), etc. I like meeting all of you, but I don't want to meet you because you've had an accident.
