I purchase a State Park Pass every year. I feel its worth the money with the number of times we go to Candlewood and the Beaches in general. At $67 a pop- it upsets me that I am going to have to purchase 2 - one for each vehicle because you have to have it on the windshield. I really can only afford one, but in the long run the pass is cheaper than the entrance fees. We use a pick up to tow our boat - so we put the sticker on the pickup. There are weekends were my husband needs the pickup- I would love to hit the beach or another State park with my son but I would have to pay because my pass is on the other vehicle. I am sure there are others that feel the same way. Has any alternative been looked at? What about creating some form of a 'certificate' that allows maybe 2 registrations (Or proof of with license plate numbers ) on it and maybe have it with the State of CT seal... so that the DEP employee can just check the plates? I mean its a simple idea in theroy- but maybe more complicated in other means. Its just upsetting to have to buy two passes- one for each car.
I hope that maybe in the future another means of State Park passes can be developed.
Not sure where else to post-- I just wanted to be heard. Thanks!
