Please be advised that in Connecticut it is illegal to stock fish without a permit from DEEP. This prohibition is intended to prevent:
1) The introduction of invasive species (including pathogens causing diseases such as largemouth bass virus and VHS).
2) Interference with ongoing fisheries management through the introduction of inappropriate species.

Should the owner of the property be interested in jumpstarting the fish community they should contact DEEP Inland Fisheries (860-424-3474) for more information and permits. Additionally, one of our habitat biologists can provide guidance as to the numbers and species of fish to be stocked.
