Just that it has been my experience that fishermen understand the importance on weed growth to the entire food chain and fishery. Boaters not so much - they aren't nearly as concerned with negative impacts as they are with weed-free boating.

Lots of lake residents aren't really fishermen so I perhaps unfairly lump them in that same group of weed haters. But I did only say a percentage of lake residents - not "all" lake residents.

Lake residents are also the same people voting for and seek permits for chemical weed control options. It's not like the state or the fishermen are condoning or promoting its use. But that's another topic entirely.
