STOCKING UPDATE - ATLANTIC SALMON. DEEP completed its 2013 Atlantic salmon stockings this week. Approximately 50 salmon were stocked out in the Naugatuck River (upper-13 fish, lower- 12 fish) and Shetucket River (25 fish). These fish are beautiful, ranging in size from 2 to 15 pounds, and average 10 pounds each. These stockings bring the number of broodstock Atlantic salmon stocked this fall to approximately 1,850 fish (besides the Naugatuck & Shetucket rivers, Crystal Lake and Mount Tom Pond have also been stocked with salmon this fall).
