they have it right on Lakeville. keep the prop on, honor system. in the event of bad weather or emergency, you can zoom to shore, safety or rescue. ive had it happen there twice, they were 100% understanding and appreciative in both cases.
im sorry to hear this is occuring, i havent had a run in with anyone this season (first year in the last 4-5) who thinks they own something that isnt theirs, or trys to enforce rules that only apply evidently to me, but noone else. its a shame, and ive learned talking the high road is the only way to win.
DO NOT GET IN A SHOUTING MATCH. call the tip line, and report it. i hear the person out (it might be valid, occasionally), give a warning first, and then without notice dial the hotline and report it. then i follow through, and it usually ends at the ramp when the officer arrives. nowadays with cell phone video its a no brainer. but youre going to have to sacrifice a fishing outing to do this, waiting and dealing with the officer.
my advice, which is clear everywhere else on this site no body wants, would be to not press charges, and simply attempt to inform the man of what youre doing, how your on the lookout for the lake because you appreciate the fishery, and how the two of you should be friends, and apologize for the misunderstanding. even though it isnt really your fault, people are baffled and disarmed when you see their side, take their point, and understand where they are coming from. an apology is the olive branch that can end this whole thing immediately. landowners have a lot to lose...i get it. when they see we're on their side... the sensile ones get it too.
there are the turds who cannot be talked to, and thats why you dial the officer. but waramaug, bantam lake, mudge x4, lakeville and even one place in maine have tried to pull this with me, and ended up not bothering me ever again, and in 4 cases i have friends on that lake who wave each time, come out for a chat...
i might head over there this week, just to mediate. seriously, is the old man who sits on the ramp there predictably?
