It was a rather cold, dark and windy morning wading the CT River this morning. The water was at a good level and running clear, except for lots of cotton floating and sticking to everything.

The smallmouth didn’t mind and hit my topwater baits with reckless abandon.

Lots of aerial acrobatics and powerful runs in the current.
A black Headbanger and a black El Choppo both caught 5-6 fish.

Bonus scare was a 10-15 lb corpse of a striper floated into my back and shocked the heck out of me!! Lol
I also was blessed to see a tiny, day or two old, fawn on the side of the road, so I hope my horn blast kept it out of harm’s way.
Neat to see the circle of life carrying on!
It was a fun morning!
