I'm a little late in posting this, but I did deep fry a 13 lb turkey for Thanksgiving. It came out great as always. I injected it with butter, broth, Tobasco and lemon juice and I rubbed it with a cajun type salt.

As for the safety side of it, I wont do it within 35 ft of my home (any part of it) and I attend it the whole time. Kids and pets are kept far away. So far, so good.
