Hit Candlewood with Mitch from 7:30 until 11:30.
Byte was slow but resulted in my first ever night catch a nice 1 1/2# smallie. I got a second later in the evening about the same size. Mitch had a couple of smallies as well in the same range.

As we were getting ready to head in Mitch said just a couple more casts and we'll head back in. For me that's never produced anything but the end of the fishing trip, until tonight. On the very next cast, the black spinnerbait I was throwing (another Jighead bait by the way) took a huge hit and here comes this tail dancing beauty over to the boat. When the headlight hits him he dives under the boat putting a good bend in the rod. I pull him back up and Mitch nets him into the boat. The result was my new PB (second of the season) but this time it was a smallie. At first when I saw him I thought old bucky might be a gonner and with all the jumping around it did the scale did get over the 4# mark a few times but went he finally settled down he came in at 3# 4 oz. 1 oz better than the LMB I caught a few weeks back on Lake Housatonic!

The bite might have been slow, but I really enjoyed myself a lot even before the finale. It was a gorgeous night to be out in God's creation. The lake was very peaceful and the company was tremendous. Mitch thanks so much for the great evening getting me my first night fish, the trailer hook tip and my new P.B.
