Curious how the album and tour turn out. They've been rehearsing together multiple times per week. Hopefully that means it won't be a bust. Only issue is no Michael Anthony in the band. That stinks.

The bass in VH isn't critical as with, say, Yes or Rush or a band like that. VH is just driving hard rock, and Eddie's guitar is always center stage. If DLR has half his old stage presence and Wolfgang can replace Michael Anthony's high harmonies, then the shows will be a success.
I've waited a long time for this album, I hope it doesn't suck.
With all due respect BoNeato, I beg to differ. Eddie's punk son doesn't deserve this chance in such a major spotlight.
And, it was Anthony's vocals and stage presence that I was thinking of that will be missed. I hope this thing succeeds, and I'll most likely get to a show (unless the first reviews come in awful).
I can see if they want to get his son on stage here and there, but not for the the entire tour. Who knows, maybe Anthony wants no part of this. I haven't read anything from his perspective, so I don't know.

I don't think the kid deserves it either, but it is what it is. As far as I understand, it was Michael Anthony's choice not to be involved as he got close with Sammy over the years.
It's too bad. It will never be the same without him, and his missing vocals certainly are the wild card here. But I was weaned on early VH. Women and Children first was released my freshman year in high school, and I listened to them a ton. While I think Sammy is talented, for me no matter what they did, it was just never VH without DLR out front.
This is awful. Like Grandma limping along on life support for a couple years. Just pull the guitar plug already...
No BS, the worst concert I ever saw was DLR when he was solo with Steve Vai. I really only went for Vai, and wound up walking out on the show anyway. He sounded like crap that night, and the guy mixing the show didn't have a clue. Painful...
For me Van Halen died shortly after 1984. There were a bunch of good Van Hagar tunes, but it was never quite the same.

I have seen Van Halen quite a few times with the original line up. Sammy Hagar is a a douche. I don't care how many albums they sold under Van Hagar. The original was the best. They are gone, so lets get on with it. Lemmy will out live us all. Dave Grohl plays his ass off in this video. Lemmy with Dave Grohl's tribute band Probot.
Probot - Shake Your Blood (Uncensored) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T09hBGGpSjk Play this loud. I am going to the show at the casino at the end of the month to see Motorhead for the fifth time in a lot of different states. I have to bring earplugs because my tinnitus is so bad. A great video from Motorhead in Germany in 2009. Lemmy doesn't even pay attention to the hot chicks. Bad ass dude. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUJ0IYZKLvE
