I went down to a local private pond tonight thinking I might catch my first open water bass of the year. I wound up catching a nice fat brookie on a senko of all things. Now it occurs to me that trout streams are closed now. This pond is fed by two trout streams. Can I fish this place? I have permission. I'm just trying to stay on the right side.

with that argument Cap, Pachaug should be closed, the Quinnebaug for instance has a line,Butts bridge, upstream of considered river, downstream is a lake and open year round. It's getting way too complicated.

Not really complicated. If the water body is a SMALL impoundment (pond) and a known STOCKED trout stream enters and leaves it figure the impoundment is closed as it is merely a dammed part of the same river. If it is a larger water body and is NOT listed in the Anglers guide as a stocked trout lake it is open.
If you feel it is a "grey" area, ask Encon for a clarification , or stay away till opening day (pun intended ).

Thanks for the help Guys.
The pond in question is Clarks Falls Pond (private all around)and it an impoundment of Spaulding Pond (another private pond) which is an impoundment of Wyassup Brook and Pendleton Brook both stocked steams. Clark Falls Pond in turn feeds Green Falls River. Neither Clark Fall Pond nor Spaulding Pond are listed in the anglers guide.
Cap if thats the case I guess Im done there. Thanks. Better finding out here than the hard way.
Oh yeah, the brookie went back.
