Chief Hall and the RI DEM officers - Congratulations on a job well done. Keep up the good work! Also a big thanks to whoever provided DEM with the info about the hidden compartments.

If I was a poacher, a $450 fine would be a joke compared to how much I was making off illegally sold stripers, since this is a second offense he better loose his commercial license if he has one and his rec license... This guy should be done with fishing for good, I would love to hear the outcome of this one!
I was boarded at the boat launch in Pt Judith last year, first thing he did was went right to my anchor storage at the front of the bow, opened it and pulled all the anchor rope out! When I asked what he was looking for he told me people attach bags full of illegal fish to anchor ropes and slide them down under the hull.
I told him he was doing a great job and keep up the great work, these guys mean buisness and its nice to see them checking out boats!!!

Bravo Zulu to the RI DEM and anyone who aided in nabbing this scum. Hopefully the penalty is more effective this time. I'm all for nailing this guy to a rotting whale carcus floating off of Chatham Beach

Anyone remember some guy in the Thames about 30 years ago ? I seem to remember he was going out at night during the Fall and pounding Stripers before the moratorium was lifted . He was selling them and kept getting popped , he got arrested something like a dozen times and finally got some jail time ,
Or am I going senile ?

"Politically correct" was initially coined by Leon Trotsky to refer favorably to those whose views remained in sync with the ever-shifting Bolshevik Party line. This was important, as "not PC" people risked prison or death.
ecurB, if your talking about the same guy I remember he was the only one I know of at that time who went to jail over fish violation.People I know who knew that guy said he did most of his fishing with white bucktails, they also said if he had wrote a book on striper fishing he would have been rich

Jahova, FYI His contender he owned had a hydraulic deck that rose. He also chartered the contender. It was a group of guys the day before who called in the DEM on him about the hidden fish hold and what to look for (~50 fish day before). The DEM wouldn't have discovered the fish hold if it wasn't for the tip. The camo john boat was used to get bait.
