The Tank used to mount the 10 Gauge leaves deep track marks in the woods.I could be wrong.

I have no idea. Probably because the 10ga was not around or perhaps not popular when the statutes were written.

The though of hauling my great-great-grandpa's old 10ga market gun about is exhausting.

But you could shoot those birds a few seconds before your hunting buddies could....

You know, I completely forgot about the old market hunting guns. For those type of shotguns a 10 ga was actually a small caliber.

Punt guns were usually mounted in a sneak boat, unless your hunting buddy was the hulk!!

From my many years of deer hunting in most of the eastern states the only time I have ever seen a 10 gauge gun used was when buckshot was legal. Back many years ago in NJ buckshot was the only legal deer load and the 10 gauge was very popular. A 10 gauge with 3 1/2 inch shells held a lot of buckshot, especially number 4 buck. But I would not want to shoot a slug out of a 10 gauge, the kick would be unbearable.

I have done it. I found 12 boxes years ago on sale for a 1.25 a box. I since gave them to a friend. I think they where close to 800 gr. Nasty little critters. Kick its not that bad browning bps 10 is 11 lbs. It doent hurt as much as you think.
