I've fired slugs from my 10 gauge BPS , and like Will says , it ain't that bad .
For some reason the 10 Gauge has this "mythical" reputation of tearing your arm off at the shoulder , giving you extended range , blah blah blah.....
All a 10 gauge really does is throw a bit more shot out there from a bigger hole at the end of the barrel . You may or may not get a better pattern , depends on how your gun and specific load get along . Most are heavy enough to counteract the extra powder/shot charge .
If you wanna feel something that hurts , go fire a few Hypersonics through a light 12 gauge . That hurts !
.
"Politically correct" was initially coined by Leon Trotsky to refer favorably to those whose views remained in sync with the ever-shifting Bolshevik Party line. This was important, as "not PC" people risked prison or death.
Good point about the 10 gauge being a heavier gun and counter-acting the recoil of a heavy slug. I will say this, you load it up with number 4 buckshot in a semi-auto and you have some kind of fire-power. I hunted with a guy back in NJ during the 70s who used a 10 gauge double with number 4 buckshot and I saw him whack a doe. The poor thing just crumpled up like an accordian. Just blew the animal right off its feet.
