Been searching the angler guide but can't seem to find it. Maybe a dumb question but, on opening day I'm taking my two boys out ages 8 and 14 are we allowed only 5 trout total under my fishing licence. Thanks in advance.

Look deeper into the regs. Some are trout parks or trophy steams and have a creel limit of 2 fish

And then there are the trophy trout lakes that can have 1 brown and it has to be a certain size or there can be a slot lenght also. It can be very confusing.

You need to know where you are going to be fishing, then check the creel limit for that location. If there is not a special creel limit then the statewide limit of 5 applies per fisherman. Your kids have their own creel limits even though they don't need a license.
