It’s time for you to protect "our" hunting privilages… and make the complaint to DEP

He may have committed at least 2 violations of law with those signs (at least where I come from). 1 if he posted the signs without the consent of the land owner. And 2 for posting incorrect information on the sign itself. I tend to agree with Swifty that it may be time for you to contact the dep. You could also talk to your landlord to advise him of what's going on. He may solve the problem for all of you once he knows. Also, in my home state, NY, "charging for access removes the liability protection granted to the landowner by the General Obligations Law". You may have something similar in your state and your landlord may not want to take a chance with some unstable hunter. Just saying wink2

Years back , I and my hunting partners ran up against a group of guys who acted very similar to this fella .
Their actions bordered on psychotic .
The landowner admitted to us that he had become scared of them and was frightened of what they might do if he revoked their permission to use his land .
We pretty much acqueisced to his fear of these guys and left them to their own , the landowner was very old and didn't need the drama .

Fast forward.....
We always knew these guys were "on the edge" but found out just how bad one of them really was .
He murdered a cop and then blew his own brains out.....

My point is this....
I wouldn't get too personally involved with this fella .
Talk to your landlord and get his position , then get EnConn involved .
Let EnConn deal with this guy , I don't doubt he is the type who makes them think "this is why I do this job" .
And they deserve every bit of enjoyment they can wring from taking down a psycho .

.

"Politically correct" was initially coined by Leon Trotsky to refer favorably to those whose views remained in sync with the ever-shifting Bolshevik Party line. This was important, as "not PC" people risked prison or death.

Ya, im just keepin my distance from him. My landlord is 93 &there I don't think he really wants to deal with him either. The other hunter informed him about the signs anyway so at least he has some idea what the clowns up to.Im not as concerned now that its bow season but what's gonna happen when rifle season opens? What if he gets pissed & desides to take a pop shot at the kids on their dirtbikes? I hate to call in Encon now &have them not find him doing anything so its kinda a wait &there let him hang himself game.

Its Better to be Hated for who you are than loved for who your not..And If you wanna here God laugh ,tell him your plans...

Another approach is if the landowner has family who tends to his affairs to be notified about this situation and let them decide if their elder needs help possibly by calling in the authorities. A 93 yo man can be easily intimidated or hoodwinked and perhaps that is what happened here. Good luck, let's hope for a good resolution to this.

Just tell your buddy go take a piss under his stand everytime you go in the woods when he's not there or a bottle of ax body spray on his tree will work to...See how much fun he has hunting in a tree the deer avoid all together..lol

LMAO. Note to self, don't mess with Dave.

Go with the axe spray - the piss won't scare them away at all

Agway and Blue Seal both sell deer repellant and it works,we use it all the time to keep deer out of the gardens up at Woodridge Lake.

Only problem is it is water soluable and needs to be applied every few weeks.

Get some and spray around his stands or the property line to keep deer away.
