If I wanted to jump shoot ducks in a area that is also designated for pheasant hunting, but do not have pheasant tags; how would I prove to a warden that I was not illegally hunting pheasant when I was simply looking for ducks? Is it as simple as just not possesing any dead pheasants?
I finally figured out why we get up so early in the morning to fish. It's not so much the sunrise bite that gets us out there; but the fact that once we have a wife and kids the only time we can actually get to the lake is at that ungodly hour!

Normally if you are dressed in full camo, have a license with a duck stamp, HIP and Fed Duck stamp, have a duck call hanging around your neck and only have non-toxic shot with you hunting in an area adjacent to a brook, river or pond where ducks are located, that would lead a reasonable person to believe that you are duck hunting. I don't know too many pheasant hunters....non actually....who use steel or bismouth on pheasants.
However if the area is specified in the hunting guide as pheasant hunting only, then the only species you can legally hunt there are pheasants.

I certainly agree with your statement. But if I am jump shooting them I am not stationary, and as a result would be required (I think) to comply with the orange requirement. So If the area is a mix of hunting for pheasant and waterfoul, small game, etc. It might cause confusion and I would sure hate to get a ticket or worse becasue of confusion!
