To the dep, just kidding around with my comments. I do hope this fishery will bounce back in time. It seems that the biomass of yellow perch is high, hence them being stunted. Who knows maybe the bass are still there but I'm not a biologist and we had a very warm summer or 2 mixed in with low water and heavy ice snow pack so I'm guessing oxygen and low water levels did in the fish.
Judging only on past trips and low catch rates. Hope whatever is left in there had a good spawn.
I would assume the town of wallingford would have to get proper permits through the dep if it were ever to get stocked legally but I have a better chance of hitting power ball then that happening.
P.S. this pond is open to Wallingford RESIDENTS only.

My only intent was to get people in town interested in the lake and hopefully make a few calls. All comments about stocking were just jokes and I assume everyone else's were too. We have all seen the damage it can do. With the exception to beseck which has turned into a nice pike lake

Maybe we should ask the town council fishing bum , Don Harwood would be the ont to ask or one of the people to ask. if Wallingford town council wasn't so stuck in the dark ages you could email someone. They don't even have voice mail at the town hall. That is how stuck in the dark ages the town of wallingford is in.
I guess the only way to make this happen (stocking the lake) would have to be making a proposal in front of town council. I think they meet once a month as I have stumbled upon this a time ot two on public broadcast channel 18 here in Wallingford.
The town wants to spend 500,000 bucks on parking lot for down town Wally world, maybe we should start a petition to stock the lake instead. Sounds good to me what say you guys from Wallingford?
I would love to make a stink about this. Who else would like to make some noise here?
I'm for getting the lake stocked anyone have any suggestions????

Alewive (Landlocked) Landlocked alewives (a member of the herring family) are abundant in many Connecticut lakes and are commonly used by anglers as a bait fish. The widespread use of landlocked alewives as bait has resulted in these fish becoming established in lakes where they can be highly detrimental to other fish species. Once landlocked alewives become established, their population number can increase quickly, allowing them to out compete other fish species for available food. Also, alewives can feed on egg and larval stages of other species such as trout, perch, walleye and bass. Seldom can they be removed from a lake once they establish a population. East Twin Lake (Salisbury) and Wononscopomuc Lake (Lakeville) provide examples of the effects of landlocked alewives. Each of these lakes had fishable populations of Kokanee salmon for many years. Alewives were accidentally introduced into each of these lakes and the salmon populations declined and then disappeared. For these reasons we recommend that anglers take great care when discarding their unused bait at the end of a fishing trip. Do not empty the bait bucket into the lake (an alternative is to freeze and save for the next trip). Even if you're not using alewives as bait, there may be one of two in the bucket which may lead to establishment of a population. These precaution will help limit the spread of an unwanted and potentially detrimental species.
Remember - The use of live alewives, blueback herring, gizzard, hickory, or threadfin shad as bait is prohibited in:

John let me know when the next meeting is, I too like to be a pain in the ass when its for a good cause. I'ld also be willing to donate some of my time to making this happen.

I live close to mckenzie reservoir and would also lend support to efforts towards returning the bass population. Maybe we should ask if anything is happening to restore the fish at the electric division office where they issue the town fishing permits.

Dick inson dont want to spend the mney for voice mal, email he aint gonna spend money for no stocking truck full of fish. Was hoping Harwood could get in, another term with the dinosaur.
