If bluefish were the size of bluefin, I would poison the whole ocean.

state did sampling trips there for the mdc a little while back....it was less than impressive. A lot of stunted bass....very similar to colebrook. They took multiple trips and found the same each tome...both electrofishing and angling.

Place is not spectacular...competition is a good thing for many bodies of water and left alone many locations would end up overpopulated.

Why not a WHOLE BUNCH of us all meet up and at the same time?

They won't be able to get ALL of us!

I like the way you think! After all you don't have to be faster than the dog, you just have to be faster than your friend!

You can go up to Mass and fish the river that flows into it.

Difference in Quabbin?

First, Quabbin IS a fantastic fishery, Barkhamstead is not as Dusty pointed out.

There may have been a codicil when the Q was created back in the late '30's and early '40's that it would be open to the public for recreational and fishing purposes.

Third, the Q has strict personal use boat requirements and if your boat is certified for the Q and you fish somewhere else, you will have to go through the certification process again before you could get back on the Q.

There is a possibility that the management of the fishing portion for Quabbin pays for itself through certification fees, fishing, parking and boat rental fees.

I doubt that the MDC is in a position to implement those kind of measures.
