This sounds like a poor choice ethically for these fish. Kind of like the fella on here who wanted to fly fish for cape cod BFT. Why not give them to a soup kitchen. They are gonna die anyway.

Jon, of the 2 soup kitchens I approached with offers of fresh fish, both declined and asked for cash or can goods. The offer has never been made again, any excess now goes to a few select clients.

If it were me........... I would catch, weigh (take measurements), picture and release. That way your not stressing the fish and releasing back into its habitat. That way you dont have to try to keep a big blackfisn alive and then release it at or after the bash.
