I don't believe the report that the fish are stunted. I grew up in the area and kids will be kids. They must of had a bad sample...

I would not consider calico's that measure 18" stunted wink2

and the smallies in there are pretty big too.

I also grew up in the area lol

I fish the NY Watershed Reservoirs on occasion, and have some good friends who fish almost nowhere else. From my observation, there is less problem with trash and litter there than at most other fisheries. The guys who are serious about it (and they are a pretty substantial portion at most of the res) often police the area they keep their boat in at the end of nearly every day on the water. The trashy areas seem to be the places that are easy access for shoreline fishermen, but not boat access areas.

And the fishing in those reservoirs is spectacular.

i fished one down my way afew times.ssshhhh. i caught a huge bass atleast 8 lbs and the calico were hitting 3" kalin grubs. we hit it for awhile until we got a simple trespass ticket. $57. no signs or anything.
