And even more so if you are bass fishing and could care less about the nine inch trout they stock.

....If we have any say... Vote for May

Exactly.

All lakes should remain open Year Round for everyone to enjoy. Simply institute a zero possession/ 100% catch and release policy for all trout until the opening day.

Why restrict recreational use for fisherman that don't even care about the put and take trout fishery?

with the amount of poaching going on after they stock, opening day is really in march. not sure if its a money idea or not.

guys,

its a great point.

i think its time to take control of our resources from the gubment.

we pay the money, we should make and implement the rules, and allocate exactly where the funds go.

That will never happen Mike. I think trout should be stocked in fish ponds for kids only and in the streams for everyone. To shut lakes down to all fishing because trout are stocked just suxs. I think the state should stock smallies in those lakes instead.

If you voted for Malloy your an idoit if you voted for Obama you just an ass hole and should be striped of your citizenship!

Continue the stocking and do away with the "opening day". They should not publish when and where the fish are stocked. Just do it randomly. Just think how much those bass like to chow down on the small stockies.

I have been advocating for abolishing opening day for years,it only benefits the tackle retailers.

Lakes should stay open year round.

agree 100% .

I hate the fact the state makes it so easy for the stocking truck chasers and poacherts to know exactly when, where, how many and what size have been put in. This info should be kept under wraps away from the public for the sake of the fishery.

Mitch can you find my post on abolishing opening day and merge it here please.

thanks Mitch
