Until the Menhaden harvest is reduced the populations of other prey will continue to be under pressure. The predators will eat something. If it isn't menhaden then it will be something else. I think it is probable that herring, flounder, and even lobster replace the biomass taken by the menhaden fleet. I have not seen as many huge schools of Bunker so common in the 70's and 80's.
