Did anyone ever watch Con-Air? Dude go put up in prison for using his fists, because he was in the military and his fist were classified as deadly weapons....

If I recall right, it was the four guys Goetz shot that were carrying the screwdrivers. They used screwdrivers back then to pry open public phones to steal the coins. Goetz was jailed for use of the pistol.

Was waiting for someone to pick up on that Tommy. Makes the whole thing so much worse doesn't it? The guy gets jailed for defending himself against a gang in the subway. Sorry to get off the subject. But one thing always leads to another in these discussions.

Not to stray from the subject even further: current Ramset and other powder actuated tools are classified as 'low velocity' because the 25 cal 'shots' drives a piston into the nails but as Skip said, under right conditions, it can be a weapon. Early Ramset models were high velocity and the nails were the projectile; after numerous fatalities the units were discontinued and redesigned. It would have been interesting to know if Bernie Goetz would have gotten the same jail sentence back then if he used the older Ramset. I think the scum that is in a wheelchair today, receiving disability assistance, would not have survived a hardened 16D nail fired at him than a 25 cal slug. BTW, Mr. Goetz was arrested a few months ago for marijuana possession, I wonder if he can sue the 'victims' for turning him into a stoner???...just saying.
