I was hiking the shoreline in New Milford due to the drawdown and found several zebra mussel shells...inevitable.

A year of clear water...hey this is great,
Hey, where'd the alewives go? , Gee, the smallies seem small, where'r the bigguns?
Maybe we'll get the put-take trout fishery back and have a giant Mt Tom...that'd be swell.

It also means they have been transported to other ct lakes from there.

That's how they got here. Lilli has them, and is part of the Housy so I wonder if they could also be getting sucked up from when they pump water into the lake.

They have been everywhere else, without much evidence to show a detrimental effect on any fishery I've seen. Why would cwood be different guys? I can't see why. Champlain fishery is robust. Even twin has excellent bass pop, and alewifes are plentiful.

We add invasives, and it seems mist times it makes the fishery better!!!!

Gobies, alewife, snakeheads, pike, zebra mussels, milfoil, hydrilla, green and Asian crabs... The only thing that ever suffers seems to be stocked trout. Granted the asiatic carp and non native form of lamprey do damage, but other than that?

There was no way mussels were not getting in there. Pumping water from the Hous, boats going in and out, birds carrying them around? The trout fishing has been bad just from the heat lately, this will be the kick in the butt. Just a bad situation...
