Trying to figure this out for an upcoming tournament. Is there a demarcation line on shore that is considered public access on the river? I can't remember where the rule was from but I remember 10ft above the high tide line?

Mean high tide, if you really dig into the statutes there is a reference to historical flood zones. Basically anywhere below the mean high tide line is public. above Hartford I'd research rights on historical waterways. Ie if you can prove the waters were used for commerce, boats, trading, log delivery ect it is an easy court battle that even large corporations will not dabble in for fear of setting a president.

The court ruling from the Greenwich case referenced mean high tide mark, not 10 feet above. We run into this all the time with waterfowl hunters. We tell them as long as they're below mean high tide mark that they're on public access property.
