This was posted on the CT Fish and Wildlife facebook page today.
Just a reminder that the Legislative Regulation Review Committee is scheduled to vote on the proposed inland fishing regulation changes on February 24, 2015. The proposed changes are outlined in last years (2014) Angler's Guide and include the proposed change in the Opening Day of Trout season to the second Saturday of April. The printing of the 2015 guide is scheduled to be in March, following any changes in the Marine Regulations (Federal decision) and incorporating the inland changes (State decision). We will post any news as soon as we are made aware. Thank you for your continued support.

C'mon. That's usually the weekend AFTER the kids' spring vacation. Move it up a week and let kids fish.
Hey, my kids school must have moved their vacation up a week in anticipation of this. They want to keep our kids as bored and miserable as possible where we live.

INLAND FISHERIES REGULATION UPDATE: The Legislative Regulations Review Committee today (Tuesday, 2/24) approved the Inland Fisheries regulations proposal that includes moving Opening Day one week earlier to the second Saturday in April (instead of its current third Saturday). This means that Opening Day, 2015 will be April 11. A summary of the regulation changes can be found on the web at http://www.ct.gov/…/2014_inland_fishing_proposed_regulation… ALTHOUGH THESE REGULATIONS HAVE BEEN APPROVED, THEY ARE NOT YET EFFECTIVE. It typically takes a week or so following approval to finish up the legal process and get them over to the office of Secretary of State for official posting. We will post again as soon as they are effective.

They will...just not until late May or early June so that we've all got our licenses, then come August they'll send up a smoke signal up out in the middle of no where telling "everyone" that anyone who bought it earlier in the year can mail in a request for refund which no one will know about and the state will double dip on everyone...
