"They have something you want that he pays the upkeep for."
What upkeep? He doesn't do any maintainance to the launch or the parking lot to speak of.

I totally agree with Hornhunter's and Trout Trackers statements:

"Are there any plans for the DEEP to put in a state launch at East Twin? We hope so. Its just not right that we have to pay a 15.00 fee to launch our boats every time we fish there, when we are already funding the state fish that are managed and stocked there. Then Ohare reaps a return on the fishermen that launch and fish there."

"Yes but a private business should not be making money off a situation like this."

A business reaps the rewards/benefits for fish which are stocked in the lake funded by fisherman. As far as I"m concerned no lake should be stocked with fish we fund unless there is public access. I always purchase a freshwater fishing license even though I don't fish fresh water. No more. So many great things in this state unfortunately mis-managed by a bunch of stinking idiots.

I would fish it more if it had a state launch. I hate launch fees. And the place has Zebra mussels. Lets see $15 and I have wash/bleach my boat before I can go anywhere else. And the launch sucks.
The more I think about it, I don't think I fished it at all this year due to these reasons.

Ranger Z-20, Yamaha F225, Humminbird electronics, St Croix rods, Shimano reels.

Actually there is a state land parcel next to ohares where you can launch small boats by carry in.

St. Clair River. Port Huron, MI.

I don't think the launch at Twin sucks, the launch fee does though. Only been there once this year, not planning on going back. Driving that far and paying 15 bucks is just too much, I can go to Lakeville and pay $40 for 5 launches (5th one is free) compared to the $75 I pay for 5 launches at Twin.

The launch at Mudge, NOW that sucks.

sorry im with fishhedz. build a launch and the lake will take a huge hit, absolutely seen it with bantam. learn the lesson folks.

also, look elsewhere for other launches. if those rocks have been moved, make it work.

mudge stays as is. thats why it still has fish.
ditto on waramaug, and thats gone way downhill in terms of fishing. still good, not what it was before the town ramp.

Sorry O bass but even if the rocks have been moved, launching a 20' Ranger isn't going to happen at the state car top launch.
Not disagreeing with you Tommy, but at least at Mudge as long as the water isn't too high I can launch. Get 4 truck tires in the lake and the brakes squeal for the first couple of miles but I can launch.Oh yea, and I don't spend the $15.
Sorry but I have a hatred for launch fees. I have buddies giving me crap all the time about how much I spend on my fishing, but don't want to spend any money to launch. They forget that if you fish 100 times a year and you drop $15-20 a pop that can run up quite a bill for the year.
