I have noticed that most people using paddleboards don't have a PFD with them or wearing one. Are they not required?

I rarely see them wearing one. Just guessing but I think they would be the same as surfboards? Not required??

Believe similar to kayaks....only required in cold water by date......kayaks have life jackets required something like dates prior to June 30th.

Those waist pack PFDs are perfect for paddleboarding.

Life jackets are a great idea regardless of requirements.

That's only when they HAVE to wear them. They must be in the yak at all times of the year!

Paddleboards (SUP)fall under the same pfd requirements as any other manually propelled vessel. Between Oct.1st through May 31 a pfd shall be worn, between June 1st and Sept. 30, a pfd must be on board, but not required to be worn.

Thanks for clarifying that Sarge. Someone should inform the paddleboarders at West Hill.

For some reason there seems to be a lot less paddle boards in the Guilford area in the last few days....

They're still there, they just paddle and hide when they see that red boat move!

It is only when you see a mosquito landing on your testicles, that you realize that there is always a way to solve problems without using violence ...
