I hit up a few areas this week just wading around and did pretty well on smaller fish but lost all 3 good ones I had on too...one was even in my hand and shook away. Oh well..
Top water, fluke and small keitech swimbaits on 1/8 oz heads have all caught fish.
The water is up from the rains, but is clear and spreading the fish out throughout the river.

Great to see you got out and caught fish. I can relate to the big ones being tough to land. I believe that similar to golf, any fish that is less than a club/rod length away, when gentlemen are fishing, is considered a gimme. That said, I am officially calling the one that shook out of your hand as caught which now makes you 1 for 3 on the big ones. If by chance one of the other two big ones was within your rod length, then like the song on Meatloaf's 1997 album, Bat out of hell; "Two outa three ain't bad"
