Took a chance and fished a small lake from shore where it can extremely hard to pull up fish. After 4 hours or so total (two different days)we pulled in over 50 bass along with about 10 to 15 perch. Just about all of this fish came out of two spots (casting in very similar area) that were about 10 yards away from each other. Most of the largemouth were about 12inches (didnt bother snapping pics of them) We caught some nice perch some over 1lb And I caught 2 5lb and 1 3 1/2lb largemouths
All around weed lines.
None of the bass really "crushed" any of the lures just heavy line and a lot of fighting on the way in.
Great trip! Great fish. I went out Sunday briefly in the afternoon and could not catch anything in the 52 degree water. I like that you threw a lipless crank bait and connected with a quality fish.
ADDED 2 MORE pictures, I didnt realise I didnt add them.
Id like to take my kayak out but ive been a bit too lazy to lug it onto my car, PLUS its been so windy. I dont have an anchor of any sort and the place I usally bring my kayak to gets super rough on windy days.
The goal is to be the top angler from shore Unfortunetly most of the places I fish from shore dont have much fishable areas.
I figured the bass were transitioning closer to shower most likely into and around the shallow(ish) vegitation. Glad I was right
I stopped back sunday for maybe 1hour and only caught two small lmb and had a perch flop off. Even after the one day of chilly rainy weather I still caught fish but, from thursday/friday to saturday there was a big difference in the bite no matter where I went.
I've caught more LMB on a lipless crankbait this year than I have my entire fishing life.
