sure lets do away with a closed trout season ..and take it easy on the dep employess great idea..
are you nuts a delayed opneing after stocking yes that would be great let the fish spread out.. yes there are some descent trout waters here but we arent like montana.alaska or even vermont we arent a bigtime trout state..and who really care about how many fish you dont catch it isnt about the number its about being out there fishing..
if you like the mass . laws get a licnese for up there it isnt to far..

Time to stir the pot and put this back on top.


Everyone look around at how clean the banks of our fishing holes are right now ,than look at them April 28 after all the opening day wahoo's have trashed them. This should be reason enough to abolish opening day.

huskybass i hear ya on the humor factor but a place i fish 2 guys use 15 rods and yes there going for sunfish blue gills instead of dinner and a movie we got 2 guys fishing and a comedy show when fishing slow

Many of us New Englanders consider "Openin' Day" somewhat religiously. Heralding the end of the "dark times" (long, cold, endless winter).

It sure ain't the tasteless farm-raised 10 inch stocked trout, that floats my boat.

Nor is it the elbow to elbow fishermen and criss-crossed lines resembling a bad day on the Mijoy.

Certainly it's not the "Openin' Days" when I stood in blinding, icey, wind-driven rain that flew sideway, stinging my frost-bitten face..

No, no.. It's far more than these mini-horrors that brings me from a warm bed at 5am on the 3rd Sat of April.

It's far more than this I say.. 'Cause it's "OPENIN DAY!"

Rubish on the shore, be damned.. Bring a garbage bag with you. You sure won't fill it with trout. (ha!)
