Cwood Man: So now you want the selfish part? If $50 OR $100 is going to keep a few boats away and actually decrease the amount of traffic for once then I and everyone I can muster with support it 1000%! I really don't give a crap what can spiral on other lakes. I care about the one that I live, swim and fish on!
I don't think the problem is with out of state NY fisherman. It's more NY recreational boaters, most of whom don't fish. NY already changed the Bass regulations from the old "3rd Saturday in June" to being able to target Bass all through the spring via catch and release. I'm not sure of other species off the top of my head.
I've heard a few times in this thread about excess boats on the lake, but does anyone have an educated guess as to how many of the boats are from NY?

Yup keep on quoting me Yamar. If you can't see the sarcasm in my last post then you are asleep at the wheel. Oh what a different tune you would sing if you grew up on the lake! What don't you quote all the valid points.
What a freakin' joke!
Again get it through your head, I am about the well being of the lake that I live on. Shoot me!!!! Geologists stayed on Vaughns Neck for 2 months one year and found birds and plants that supposedly didn't exsist in CT. Sy good bye to these examples if there isn't a real plan in place.
So again take my one comment, that was sarcastic, and blow it up for everyone to point out and leave out my other valid points. You obviously don't know me to well.

"It has to be equitable,'' Morrissey of the DEP said. He insisted that what people pay NE Energy in shoreline management fees must not be confused with a boat sticker plan.
Residents are going to pay NE Energy fees for the privilege of living on the lake, and having decks and docks and boathouses on power company land, not for boating, he said.
Seems to me that the state still stocks Quassy and there is NO PUBLIC ACCESS. Eventually, the fee will be a done deal. General fund be damned, because there will be utility companies grabbing as much as they can. My thinking is that they generate and sell power. They make money and therefore should pay for the cost of the upkeep of thier own livelihood.
"Extra" money? That phrase is a laugh. First time I remember hearing it was from Weicker when he was smoozing the casino tribes and telling us that the new CT State Income Tax was just "extra money".
Big Brother is sadly here. This is going to set a precedent that will only alienate sportsman from what we want to do. Fishing is more than fishing to myself and the people I go with. It is a right, and I liken it to church. Hopefully this is seen for what it is, an unfair taxing of select group/groups of people, and is rejected. Wayne
I fish fresh and salt as well as crab.Streams,rivers,ponds,lakes,bays,oceans.I buy a license so I can keep when I am going to eat it and throw back when I am not.
This is no game to me and I didn't see the sarcasm so I apologize if I came off as insulting. But that quoted setiment is definitely reflective of what CLA is all about and that's why this bill is no good. Remember I'm talking about the bill specifically.
Believe me I know it's not a game but I am extremely passionate about where I live and the lake I have learned to love. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It just seems like it always turns out an us(lake home owners) vs. them deal when issues come up about the lake and restricting it.

The lake will never be private. By the way have you paid for launch fees? on Cwood? No one is ever at the booths to collect but at other lakes and launches you can't even pull into the ramp parking lot without paying a fee.
