Wondering if the Fisheries Guys ever tried putting Cutthroat Trout in the Farmington. I've fished a few tailwater's throughout the country and many of the better one's have them. I know that they have them in Maryland.

I think it has to do with water temps. If I remember correctly, they need cold water more so than brook, brown and rainbows. The farmington is cold, but what other river/lake in CT is that cold ? Few, if any, thus does not justify the cost of raising in a hatchery to be stocked.

I did a cross country trip back in the day and caught cutthroat, goldens, apache and even dolly varden trout, twas awesome. Trout are the most beautiful fish out there..

I caught some east slope cuts in Montana in 2000 while camping my way to the Madison River from South Dakota. They definately need cold water.
I would think the introduction might bring more anglers to the river to target them. This would represent a little more revenue for local businesses if successful.
