Capt:
This morning I went to Black Pond in Woodstock and there is a MAJOR amount of oily sludge on the surface at the boat ramp.
It stuck to everything and there was a family with children swimming there when I was coming out and noticed it coated on my boat and trailer. (It was dark when I launched so I didn't see anything then)
I was told that the YMCA Camp on the lake had a septic problem there a few years ago, and maybe this is the cause again- this is a real mess! It scrubbed off at home with a heavy mixture of Dawn and lots of elbow grease.

I suppose it's living up to its namesake. That's too bad.

I notified the DEEP today at Coventry Lake and forwarded the picture to him to show somebody.
I hope they figure it out and get it cleaned up.
