is there a new salmon stamp? do you need that for all salmon, or just atlantic?? $28 is pretty steep considering the amount of salmon we actually have in the state. maybe they start dumping them in colebrook???? i would assume that doesn't include kokes.

There is no Salmon Stamp in existence, at least not in Connecticut. There is a statute that allows the Commissioner to create one however it was never implemented. Apparently when the legislature increased all the fees last year they increased that one too even though the stamp doesn't exist.
Sec. 26-48a. Management of salmon, pheasant, turkey and migratory game birds. Issuance of permits, tags or stamps. (a) The commissioner may establish, by regulations adopted in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, standards for the management of salmon, migratory game birds in accordance with section 26-92, pheasant and turkey which shall include provision for the issuance of permits, tags or stamps. The commissioner may charge a fee for a permit, tag or stamp as follows: Not more than ten dollars for turkey; not more than two dollars for migratory game birds; not more than ten dollars for pheasant and not more than twenty dollars for salmon. No person shall be issued a permit, tag or stamp for migratory birds, pheasant or turkey without first obtaining a license to hunt and no person shall be issued a permit, tag or stamp for salmon without first obtaining a license to fish. Notwithstanding any provision of any regulation to the contrary, the commissioner may charge a fee of ten dollars for the issuance of a permit to hunt wild turkey on state-owned or private land during the fall season. (b) Such permits, tags or stamps shall be issued to qualified applicants by any town clerk. Application for such permits, tags or stamps shall be on such form and require of the applicant such information as the commissioner may prescribe. The commissioner may adopt regulations in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 authorizing a town clerk to retain part of any fee paid for a permit, tag or stamp issued by such town clerk pursuant to this section, provided the amount retained shall not be less than fifty cents.
Ya know thinking about how the state regulates hunting... We should be able to have certain species tags / stamps for diff species of fish .... I.E. If one would like to fish for Atlantics (during reg season for them which already exists) have a special fee for the tag / stamp for them. Want to Troutfish? Have a stamp/tag for them as well...Walleye, bass, etc... NOT EVERYONE would be able to fish for them. We all know that there are ALWAYS going to be paochers but at least this way here the people who pay for the special species tag / stamp would be more in line with watching other anglers (calling in poachers) and even geting involved - on their own time / almost like community service to maybe werk atthe hatchery and stock and so forth..... Im positive people would do this to keep the Salmon fishery and this whole BS ordeal with our Kensington Hatchery issue..... Really grinds my gears... Anyone know what to do so we can keep our fishery going ?? Details wiht a phone number or address maybe for me ?? Hit me up if you have interest in this PLEASE... I want to get some sort of Petition going forward to our Local Reps... (at least I think this is what needs to be done.) Please correct me if Im wrong - Im just really heated that they want to tax the $hit out of us fishermen and not put the tax money back into our fishery... Grinds the gears alright... Anyone else feeling this ??
I would like to have a Salmon stamp. Shoot, all the stamps I see have seen have stupid stuff on them like bells, birds, flowers, etc. Down the road there will probably even have Obama stamps, Arabic stamps and spanish stamps. I am all for having Salmon stamps.
