I'm starting to wonder if every single pond at Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull goes by the trout season or if it's just the ones that get stocked? I know 2 out of the 6 ponds at Twin Brooks Park get stocked with trout so I understand you can't fish them during the off season. But what about all of the other ponds?

If bluefish were to grow as big as giant bluefins, then there would be nothing left out there except for blues!

Hi Mike. Not sure if this helps, but the guide makes no distinction between waters that are stocked or waters that aren't stocked with regards when the season is open or closed. There's a lovely Brook Trout stream down the road from me that isn't stocked but is still closed to trout when the trout season is closed.

That said, if you're not targeting trout -- for example, have a lake that has good population of panfish or bass I think you'd do okay fishing for a species that is in season.

Anything that's getting stocked stay clear of.

EDIT: Looking at a topo map it seems that those ponds are all one system and it's all closed during the closed season for trout.

Nothing around my area that has a good population of fish that I can hit on my own before Opening Day. All I have this time of year that I can ride my bike to is my ice out pond that holds LMB and S but not a good population. Other ponds at Twin Brooks Park that don't get stocked have a good population of S, CP, and LMB. I've seen white suckers in 2 of the 3 non-stocked and have caught active spring perch and crappie in separate non-stocked ponds also.
