I was at the Baldwin Bridge today around 7am crab fishing there were other people there taking crab that were female and also short I tried to explain to them what the laws were and I was told to F off also there was some Oriental people crabing and also fishing they also kept short and female crabs plus they caught and kept a winter flounder that was short not to mention out of season.
I called the tip line around 735AM not sure what has happened after I left no DEP had showed by the time I left. This is norm down there for the past few weeks if not longer maybe Econn can step it up around there I know for a fact that the Orientals have no license to fish. They have asked me more than once how much they are.

isnt it just illegal to keep egg bearing females.I know it isnt good to keep the females anyway for breeding purposes.

Fishing isn't just something you do,it's a way of life

Females are legal to keep in CT as long as they aren't bearing eggs.

I can't stand the f'n people that keep short ANYTHING, then don't speak English !
I'll bet they're keeping short stripers by the Chester Ferry at certain times of the year, too !
What does the DEP do in this situation ?
I'm sure you can keep females that aren't carrying eggs, but never really saw a female with eggs because we go right past them. THAT'S OUR FUTURE !
