The town of Seymour has been dumping road waste, deer carcasses, demolition debris,at the end of Gary Park Dr. for many years now.I am tired of it.Recently they dumped a deer carcass and did not bury it completely, and it was only 200 ' from my garage. They have created this area where residents and non residents have dumped construction debris, batteries,an engine block, and other waste over the years.I have complained three times and written a letter to the first selectman. The recent deer carcass occurred this Monday,August 30.I called and was told they are not allowed to dump deer carcasses at the landfill any more.So I asked if the plan was to dump them here near my house. This is an outrage.I have well water, and so do my neighbors. An improperly disposed of carcass can spread disease, and attract rodents. I will await your response and will take further action. This letter is being forwarded to the EPA as well.
I have asked them nicely now I am taking action because they are ignoring rational requests.
Thanks for any help.

maybe you could contact a lawyer Larry, you might be able to have a lawsuit against the Town.

good idea tommy.

better yet, try calling a news network. tell them your plight, your letters, and show them the dumping site. you wanna see a town respond? do that and you'll have them on top of it in seconds!!!

I am not an expert, but I did stay at Holiday Inn a few times over the years..

If communications with the town still have no avail, then get the media and DEP involved. Take photos, document, etc. and forward to them.

When I say media, I mean WFSB, WTNH, FOX and so forth - they will eat this up, especially if you have pictures and video of what you explained..

Good Luck..

who owns the land? They probably need a permit for a "dump". Is this any where near any wetlands? If it is, go straight to the wetlands enforcement officer. Have you contacted the Town Engineer or Department of Public Works? If its town land, go to planning and zoning and ask to see the site plan for the use of this property. Seems like a public hearing would be required to create a landfill....

Good golly miss molly, not the local government doing what ever they want, who would of thought...You better not do something like that or you`d face fines or worse..That sht should be dumped on the front lawn of city hall...Friggin scumbags....They know a lawyer will cost you money, take photos and call the media if they will listen..

When I come home stinking like fish, I know I`ve had a good day....

The department of public works is aware, the first selectman is aware,I had the police arrest a guy for dumping a huge pile of siding there, they say they are going to continue.I really don't want to see heads roll,I just want it stopped.Very simple.Noone would want this sh:t by their house period.

By Pass the Town entirely, and harp on the EPA. The State DEP wont hit the Town as hard as the Feds will. Wether this is a town landfill or not, I'd bet you've got trace toxic chemicals in that ground near your home. You MUST contact EPA first, then, let DEP know about the situation but inform them the EPA has already been notified. Don't quit till you see the guys in the white suits show up.

Don't worry about heads rolling in town. Odds are pretty good a criminal act is occuring.

if the health and safety of you, your family, and your neighbors are at stake, seeing potential heads roll should be the least of your worries, especially if they are knowingly doing something wrong and or illegal.
