I was searching through some apps on my droid the other day and noticed that a bunch of other states have their fishing and hunting guide as an app that you pay $.99 for. As of right now, Connecticut does not currently have one that I can find. I dont know about other people but I thought this was an awesome idea and I would gladly pay the dollar it would cost to have all the fishing and hunting info and regs at my fingertips. I dont know about others, but I carry my cell phone in the woods as well as on the water with me at all times.
I thought I would use this thread to guage other's interest as well as DEP's interest in possible creating an app for the android and IPhone market.
Some other states that currently have an fishing/hunting guide app are Delaware, Nebraska, Indiana, Tennessee, New York, Kentucky, Wisconsin and I'm sure others as well. Maybe our DEP can contact New York's DEP and find out how they went about doing this.

why not just download the PDF to your phone for free??? Depending on what the app offered, it would have to be more than what I can get from the PDF or the website from my phone or it's not worth anything - not even .99 cents.
The ones in the android market are NOT from the states DEP but from a company called High Ridge Software
It looks like they are jsut reformatting the PDF file to a more friendly format which I guess if you use it a lot is a nice thing.

I know you could always access the guide online via your phone but as everyone knows, sometimes that can be a pain with small touch screens. The app would just be a much quicker and easier way to access the guide. For just a one time .99 cent fee, I would use it.
