Is it legal to transport a whole deer killed and tagged in NY home in CT for butchering? I seam to remember that the ban for CWD was lifted but could not find it when doing a search.

It is illegal to bring in a whole deer from out of state, in particular New York. The emergency regulation put into place in 2005 was made permanent in 2007.
The meat must be de-boned prior to bringing it into the state. You can also bring in cleaned skullcaps, hides or taxidermy mounts.
