State layoffs to start today (05/06/11) HARTFORD - Gov. Dannel Malloy is expected to issue the first round of pink slips to about 100 state workers today as part of the budget plan he signed into law Wednesday.
About 4,000 layoff notices are eventually supposed to go out.
Officials say Malloy is delaying the majority of those layoffs until closed-door talks between the administration and union leaders are complete.
